Adult Daytime Programs

Adult students may be admitted to vocational or technical programs taught primarily to high school students. This type of training is referred to as "Intergenerational." Adult enrollment is permitted yearly on a space available, tuition basis. Full-time study consists of classes operating six hours daily, from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., for 180 days during the school year. Half-time study is available by attending either the morning or afternoon session only.

Adult students may enroll in the following programs:
  • Auto Mechanics
  • Carpentry
  • Computer Repair
  • Cosmetology
  • Culinary Arts
  • Electrical Occupations
  • Commercial Art
  • Masonry
  • Precision Metalworking

  • Tuition for each 1080 hour program is $5000.00 annually for full-time study; $2500.00 for half-time.
  • Cosmetology tuition is $5750.00 for 1250 hours.
  • There is a registration fee of $50.00 to enroll.
  • Textbooks and tools are additional.
  • A Pennsylvania Criminal History Check will be done online at the school.
  • You must provide a Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance and it must be less than a year old.
  • Payment for classes must be made prior to each week of class or can be paid ahead as desired.
  • An adult/intergenerational application (below) must be completed prior to enrollment.

Computer / Business Related    

Introduction to Computers Get started using your computer. Novice users learn the PC components and their functions as well as the Windows operating system and a variety software programs.

Microsoft Office Suite Get a working knowledge of all the programs in the Office Suite 2010 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher.

Mac Basics Get started with music, digital photography and movie making on your new Apple computer.


 
Shop Related    

Auto Body Repair Learn to repair damaged parts of cars and trucks such as fenders, panel, glass, and trim. Students repair by straightening, welding, filling, smoothing, grinding, and spray-painting.

 
Health Related    

Certified Nurse's Aide Get ready for the state certification test in our 120-hour program. Our state-approved nurses aide training program prepares you to care for patients under the supervision of a licensed practical nurse. Criminal background check must be completed prior to acceptance. Class size is limited so register early.

Licensed Practical Nurse This accelerated, year-long course prepares students for a career in the medical field. Licensed Practical Nurses provide medical care to patients in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and physicians' offices.

LPN Admission Testing dates for Class 2015: January 29, February 26, March 26,
April 25, May 14, May 30.


 
Transportation Related    

Auto Safety Inspection Train for PA certification as a Safety Inspection Mechanic. Students to inspect passenger cars and light trucks. Course includes a written and tactile test.

Emissions Certification Train for PA certification as an Enhanced Emissions Inspector.
Students learn proper techniques for performing various PA Enhanced Emissions Inspections, as well as the potential problems and hazards when conducting tests and regulations that must be followed.

Emissions Re-Certification Maintain your Enhanced Emissions Inspector certification with this course that is required every two years.
